"United in Riga"
Ā
āUnited in Rigaā aimed to bridge the gap between international students and local residents in Riga, fostering social integration through an initiative organized by JustÄ«ne VÄ«tola, Samanta Baumane, with the support of ESN Riga volunteers. The project consisted of a series of cultural and educational events as well conferences. The conference brought together youth organizations and stakeholders to discuss strategies for social inclusion, while the cultural events, such as language courses, country presentations, and traditional Latvian celebrations, provided opportunities for meaningful interaction and mutual learning.
The project successfully engaged over 700 participants, including international students, local youth, and representatives from various organizations. The closing conference, held in November 2024, showcased the projectās achievements. The event featured presentations, discussions, and a retrospective look at the activities conducted throughout the project.
The project has been co-funded from the Riga City Society Integration Programme (RÄ«gas pilsÄtas SabiedrÄ«bas integrÄcijas programmas ietvaros). Their funding and resources were key in bringing this initiative to life.
Overall, "United in Riga" created a platform for dialogue, cultural exchange, and mutual understanding, contributing to a more inclusive and cohesive community in Riga.
